Campus Sustainability Jam – made from local artistberries

Posted in Uncategorized by vinylrecordsunc on October 24, 2008

Yesterday saw the annual campus sustainability day celebrations at Rams Head Plaza, complete with live music courtesy of Vinyl Records. There were stunning performances from Jacquelyn Lee, Lafcadio, Caroline Robinson, Sturges & McGeehan, and Renee’ and Walker. It was great learning about all the sustainability efforts on campus, there is certainly some great stuff going on. FLO Food was there (to put in a personal plug) giving out locally grown, seasonal, organic food in the form of delicious sweet potato pie, apple crisp, hot apple cider, and scrumptious pumpkin soup. The bands were repsonsible for a continuous stream of polished and “energy efficient” music, which wove its way to and fro, through the sea of students and tables. It wouldn’t have been the same without them, and thats what we want to accomplish at Vinyl Records, increased exposure and diversification of application of campus music into all realms of the UNC community. It can be done…It shall be done.
