Not just Halloween this weekend…visit the Cradle
So there are some events these next few days that I wanted to highlight for your musical entertainment pleasure.
First of All on Saturday November 1st, the WXYC 80’s dance will be happening at Cat’s Cradle from 9pm-2am. Its one of the best parties of the year, great music, lots of energy, and some righteous costumes. Tickets are only $5 for UNC students, and can be bought in the pit. Be there or have four sides of equal length.
Also there are some great shows coming up this week. Its a bit short notice but here they are:
Tonight, October 28th, Doors 8:30, Show at 9:30 Deerhoof are playing at Cat’s Cradle, in support of the new album Offend Maggie, which I reviewed a while ago and still love.
Friday October 31st (yes on halloween night but its over at midnight so who cares), 9pm – The Everybodyfields are playing the Cradle, they are a great live band and part of the revival of Alt-Country
Sunday night, November 2nd, show at 9pm is a stacked lineup – Lake Inferior, Times New Viking, and Deerhunter. These groups are guaranteed to rock your socks and get your toes tapping, local UNC group Lake Inferior open first, come out and support your UNC Vinyl Records music. Its going to be a crazy night.
Those are all happening right in our backyard, if you’ve never been to Cat’s Cradle on Main Street in Carrboro, you’re missing out on one of the greatest things about going to school at UNC, and one of the country’s premier venues for live music.
Repeat after me: I…will…see…live…music…this…weekend…
