Showcase Preview!-Eric DiMarzio
A sophomore voice major, Eric DiMarzio has been writing music for about four years. With an acoustic/folk sound,
DiMarzio’s often sentimental and romantic lyrics strongly resemble the sound of a traveling singer/songwriter headed towards (or searching for) some sort of distant home. The North Carolinian roots are clear, and his music is influenced by The Avett Brothers and Bob Dylan, though he doesn’t aim to fit into a genre. From his website (www.myspace.com/ericdimarzio), my personal favorites are “Catching Up (demo)”, and “Good Riddance”. Though similar, both honestly represent his music, and display his abilities on vocals, acoustic guitar, and harmonica. For Friday night’s showcase DiMarzio will be joined by Michael Bare on bass, Justin Longoria on drums, and Danny Resner on lead-guitar and keyboard.
