Can’t make it to the Duke vs. UNC battle of the bands? In the mood for some retro-funk? Happen to be near the cabaret? Then there’s really no excuse for you not to check out Greensboro based funk group Hot Politics Saturday night (www.hotpoliticsband.com). Founded in 2006, the group has played all over the Southeast, and is in the midst of a nationwide tour that began last October. The group consists of a guitar, saxaphone, bass, and percussionists–so that’s right, it’s funky. Their LP “Get Loose” is a good show of their funk-ocity, and you won’t be let down. So come out Saturday night to the cabaret in the Student Union at 8pm–tickets are five dollars, but all proceeds go to charity! Consider it community service, AND a show.
